The Ultimate Portrait Competition

SCROLL DOWN

The Ultimate Portrait Competition

We see so many amazing photos each and every day and we want to celebrate all the beauty out there. Do you think you have captured a photo that stands out among all the rest?

We want to see it!

Perhaps it was a first look between a bride and groom, a phenomenal photo of a snowy landscape, a special moment spent between a mother and her baby, or a close up of a lion in its habitat. No matter what type of photos it is that you capture, we want to see your most favorite and you could have a chance to win $1,000!

SnapKnot, along with CameraGiveaways.com, created Best Photo Contests to celebrate the art of photography.

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever. It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.

FAQs

What is an entry?

There are two different ways to enter. If you enter into Tier 1, you can submit up to 5 photos. Each of those photos will be judged separately. In Tier 2, you will submit only 1 photo.

You can submit photos that have anything to do with a wedding including bridal portraits, engagement photos, and photos from a wedding.

How should I name my photos?

The correct format for valid entries is [YourName]_[YourBusinessName]_[ImageTitle].jpg. If you do not have a photography business name, that section can be left out as shown below.
JohnSmith_FirstKiss.jpg

You MUST name each file that you upload in the format shown or your entry will not be considered in the judging.

What should the top 5 images be?

If you submit an entry into Tier 1, you will submit 5 of your top photos that you have taken. These can be all from the same wedding if you would like, but they do not have to be. The 5 images will not be judged together.

How are the entries judged?

Judging is subjective, however, we have a few simple guidelines for putting together your entry. If you are entering a single image or your top 5, make sure all of your photos are strong. Your photo should relay the story, moment or concept you want to convey. And remember, If you are entering your top 5 photos, the photos do not have to be cohesive.

Is there a limit to the number of entries that I can enter?

No, you may enter as many entries as you like.

Is there a timeframe for when my photos must have been taken to quality for this contest?

No, there are no timeframe restrictions for this contest.

What format should I save my digital images?

Digital images should have a long dimension of at least 2,000 pixels and be saved at 300 dpi (around 7" or larger) jpeg. We recommend the uncompressed file size not be larger than 4 megabytes to ensure a fast upload experience. We can accept images that are up to 50 megabytes (uncompressed) if you do not have the ability to downsize the images (uncompressed is the size you see in Photoshop's "Image Size" display which represents the count of pixels in the image: It is not the file size on your computer's hard drive viewable on your desktop). Images may be color profiled in sRGB, Adobe-1998, or not color-managed.

I have entered my photo in another competition. Does this disqualify my entry?

No, we allow images that have been entered or have won in other photo competitions, as long as they have not been entered to this contest.

Should I watermark my images?

No, please do not submit any photos with watermarks. We will appropriately credit all winning photographers. We will not chose a photo if it is watermarked.

Will my images be sold?

No. You retain copyright to your photograph and the Sponsors may not sell your photo entry for a fee. All entries may be posted online so that viewers may view all competing entries. Winning entries may be used in connection with the Contest and promotion of the Contest.

When will the winners be announced?

Winners will be contacted in January 2018 and the winning entries will be published on the SnapKnot blog throughout the month of January. Please do not call or e-mail about the status of your entries.
